Registration closed, 7 nations on the entry list
From 3 to 5 June 2022, one of the most iconic places of the Tyrolean capital will transform into a giant sandbox. The Innsbruck BeachEvent – including a festive side programme – will take place on Innsbruck’s Market Square (Marktplatz Innsbruck). The MEVZA tournament attracts beach volleyball teams from all over Europe – and the Austrian elite, too. After all, the international tournament is also part of the Austrian win2day Beach Volleyball Tour PRO.
Clemens Doppler will play in Innsbruck!
Even Austrians who are not into beach volleyball will probably know the name Clemens Doppler. For the 2022 Innsbruck BeachEvent, the vice world champion and two-time European champion will team up with last year’s winner Thomas Kunert. The routiniers will be challenged by the young guns, for example the Austrian national team Laurenz Leitner/Paul Pascariuc. The top favourites also include the World Tour-tested Austrian duos Alexander “Xandi” Huber/Christoph Dressler as well as Felix Friedl/Maximilian Trummer. And, of course, the international competition must not be forgotten ...
Women’s competition also international
Spectacular rallies can also be expected in the women’s singles. Several Austrian teams are on the entry list, including the junior national team Magdalena Rabitsch/Anja Trailovic, who recently won the Austrian pro tournament in Graz. In addition, Michaela Hollaus from Tyrol and her partner Martina Guggi want to prove themselves against the strong national and international competition. The Hungarian duo Szandra Szombathelyi/Lilla Villám is top-seeded.
